Abington Museum, Northampton

Abington Museum is a Grade I Listed building located in Abington Park and in close vicinity to the Grade II* listed church of St Peter & St Paul, Abington. The original Abington Manor House dates back before 1390. Today the museum features displays of Northamptonshire military history, local history, costume collections and changing exhibits.

The proposals involved carrying out significant internal repairs, redecoration and toilet improvements necessary for increasing the use for public/private functions and events.  The works included the following:

• To carry out repairs and redecoration of the Great Hall and Entrance Vestibule suitable for use by the public for events, weddings etc
• To carry out repairs and redecoration of the Long Hall following the removal of the Leather Museum storage racks, for use by the public for events, weddings etc
• Redecoration and repairs to the entrance area from the east elevation for use as a secondary public entrance when the Great Hall and Long Hall are in use for private functions
• Create a temporary storage area for chairs and tables when the Great Hall and Long Hall are not in use for a private function
• Refurbish the toilet area to improve the existing facilities
