New orangery recreational and social area for Harper ward patients

St Andrew’s Hospital is located in the middle of Northampton across a 106 acre site. Parts of the building have a Grade II* Listing. Harper Ward is located on the ground floor of the most southerly wing of the main 3 storey Bath stone building. The proposal was to create a new orangery area for the patients as an additional recreational and social room and to take advantage of views into the enclosed garden.  The proposal consists of a single storey building with a pitched slate roof, lead flat roof elements, tall glazed windows, timber pilasters and surround on a bath stone base.
