Conversion of Listed Building for Assisted Living Accommodation

The building was originally constructed as a Nonconformist Chapel in 1813 and is Grade II listed. The building was converted to a youth centre by SWB in 1991, including alterations to the chapel to form a large conference space. This project was to convert the building into living accommodation for people with learning disabilities whilst retaining the chapel area for worship. This involved forming 13 self-contained apartments for the residents each with a small kitchenette, bathroom, bed and sitting space to encourage their independent living. Communal facilities include a large kitchen and day spaces for education and social needs.
