St Andrew’s Church Kettering

New church underfloor heating, tiled floor finish, dais/stage and ramp

The church is located in the centre of Kettering and was built in 1869 to the designs by prominent Victorian architect George Edmund Street. A choir Vestry was added in 1900, North Aisle in 1925 and church rooms in the 1960s. The church also functions as a successful Arts Centre with well know acts performing regularly.

The old heating system was noisy and inefficient and the majority of the wood block floor was loose and a health and safety concern. A major reordering project was conceived over 10 years ago including a new narthex, west end gallery, new underfloor heating and floor tiling, new dais/stage with ramped access, new servery, sound system and lighting. In 2024 after some magnificent fund raising the first phase was carried out including a new Jupiter underfloor heating system, new boiler, underfloor cable duct system, new tiled floor finish and new dais/stage with ramp access. The work was completed in July 2024.
