Quinquennial Reports

SWB acts for over 200 churches in the Diocese of Peterborough, St Albans and Oxford including some Methodist and United Reformed churches. Many are Grade I listed. Quinquennials are carried out every 5 years and include reporting on the historic fabric of the building and making recommendations in priority order. As a result of the report repair schedules are prepared, Faculties obtained and the works administered on site through to completion.  Reports have also been carried out for other listed buildings including Rockingham Castle, Delapre Abbey and Northampton Guildhall.

Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund Bid

SWB helped secure funding for 9 churches in the Diocese of Peterborough between 2015 and 2018. The works included lead, tile and slate roof replacements/repairs, gutter and associated high level repairs. The total value of the grants added up to £415,255 for the following churches:

Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF) Bids

Two recent successful bids include the following:

Church of St Andrews, Yardley Hastings, Northants – New terne coated stainless steel roof to the Nave and North Aisle, timber beam repairs and timber treatment, high level stone repairs, new Tower servery and a new audio-visual installation – £205,700

Church of St Mary Grafton Regis, Northants – New lead Tower roof and high level stone repairs, improved access onto the Tower roof, new intermediate floor and ringing floor in Tower, new Vestry in ground floor of Tower, new lead South Porch roof including roof timber repairs, new audio visual installation and improved heritage interpretation – £125,784
