Proposed change of use from former scout headquarters to day nursery facility

Hightrees is an impressive late Victorian stone gothic revival style building set in a  one acre site. It was originally built as a Rectory in association with the Church of St John the Baptist and was later used as a scout centre headquarters. The main building consists of a basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor located in the roof space. The building also suffered some extensive fire damage.

The proposal was to convert the building into a day nursery facility for early years foundation stage curriculum from 3 months 5 years. The project also included a new single-storey entrance extension and careful structural repairs the perimeter barns and outbuildings. In addition to providing the state of the art facilities internally, the outdoor area was developed to create a stimulating environment for children to learn and develop.
